How to Order From Me

I only sell to the trade. If you're looking for a great bookstore to buy books from, please check out my list of great bookstores at
http://benarcherbooks.blogspot.com/p/great-bookstores.html

If you are a book buyer working for a bookstore, or owner of said bookstore, receiving my lists and looking for instructions on how to order from me...

HOW TO ORDER:

By Email, Using the Excel Lists I Send You as Order Forms:
Save the Excel lists where you will remember the location (desktop or a file folder) and then enter your order quantities in the "order qty" column. When you are done, save again and close, then send to me as an attachment to an email. There is no need to sort the list before sending, or to delete data for titles you are not ordering. It is best to just enter your order quantities, save, and close. You can check your order totals at the bottom of the list.

By Fax:
Write your order on paper and fax me at (800) 576-2703 (that only comes to me). If you create your order in the Excel sheet as described above, you can sort by quantity ordered and then just print that bit and fax it to me. Make sure to include enough contact info so I know who the order is from.

By Email Without Attachments:
You can also copy and paste ISBNs, titles, and quantities into the body of an email. ISBNs are most important, but also include at least a keyword or two from the title to make sure we're both getting it right.

By Paper Mail:
If you like to help keep the Post Office in business, mail your orders to me at PO Box 8143, Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
If you do decide to mail via the Post Office, I will send you postage stamps to cover your cost, up to $5.50, or the current Priority Mail rate. This is not an option for international customers.

About Printing:
If you want to work with pen or pencil, or you prefer to fax or mail me your orders, you can print my lists if you set them up properly beforehand.

If you are one of my PDF subscribers, the lists you receive tend to be shorter and you might be able to print them economically without further formatting. You should still click on print preview before printing. I do format my Excel lists for printing, though most are too large to make this practical.

To get them down to a workable size for printing, if you know how to sort, you can sort the Excel lists by order quantity after you have entered your quantities. You can then set just that portion as your print area. Preview before printing to make sure you have the correct settings. My default is always "1 page wide" by a very high number of pages long, this guarantees you won't have one or two columns printing as a whole new and useless set of pages. Also set the sheet format as landscape, not portrait.

By Phone:
Call me at (845) 264-0032. If you get my voice mail, please leave a message including your phone number and a good time to call you back. If I'm on the road I have a tendency to lose track of calls and voice mail (sorry, working on that), so don't be bashful. I don't mind if you try me again in a day if you don't hear back from me.

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE:

Email Me at
ben@bookcountryclearinghouse.com with the Following Information:

If you want to receive every list I send (between 1 and 4 lists per week), just email me with:

1. Your bookstore or business name (I do not sell to individual consumers, my customers' customers)
2. Your billing and, if different, your shipping address
3. The email address, if different than the one you are emailing me from, where you would like to receive lists.

If you want to receive only certain lists or have any special instructions I should be aware of, please tell me before I start sending lists.

If you are receiving my lists and you want to unsubscribe...

HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE:

Just reply to one of my list emails and say "unsubscribe," or "Please stop sending me lists." I sure would like to hear why, as that would be very helpful to me, but I understand if you don't have the time. I am not interested in sending my lists to people who are not interested in receiving them. On the other hand, if it is really that my lists are too frequent, tell me to send one per month, or if they are too long I can edit them down for you. Or tell me if you only want to see certain categories or authors. Whatever the case may be, I certainly appreciate your time and effort and for having agreed to receive and review my lists in the first place and I wish you well in all of your endeavors.

    2. Hi Sandeep!

I sent you a consolidated list a few moments ago (14 April, 2014). This combines the offerings of several suppliers.
Please send me your freight forwarder details when you place your order.

      Thank you!
      Ben
